Meet Brooke Brandeberry, a licensed mental health counselor and nutritionist for binge eating and trauma
What is your current role as a mental health professional in Washington?
Licensed mental health counselor and nutritionist. Owner of Ebb and Flow Nutrition and Mental Health Counseling
Where do you provide services?
My office is located in Lynnwood and I offer both in person sessions and telehealth sessions
What kind of services do you provide? Any special populations or certifications?
I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating. My niches are binge eating and trauma.. I also work a lot with anxiety, perfectionism, women's issues, trauma, addiction, and a general sense of feeling lost and/or disconnected from the way 'life is supposed to be.'
How does your service help people live mentally healthy lives?
I combine mind, body and spirituality to help create a space for clients to heal and integrate all parts of themselves. I use many different techniques in session that vary depending on the client and the client's needs.
What kind of people do you love working with?
I love working with highly sensitive people and the 'black sheep' of the family (or culture). My clients are generally sensitive souls who have had to learn how to live in this harsh world that was not designed for them.
Why did you decide to become a mental health professional?
My own journey and suffering led me to seek understanding of who I was and what changes I needed to make to be a fully authentic version of myself. This led to a sense of empowerment that has made me fall in love with healing.
What do you wish people knew about services with you?
I give my all to clients in every session. I am deeply invested in my clients' healing and will walk with them every step of the way. There is no shame or judgement in my office; only acceptance, compassion, empathy, and unconditional support. I don't "go by the book," so don't expect a cookie cutter therapist asking "and how does that make you feel?" I like to be exploratory and this means that every session can look very different!
What is your favorite way to take care of your mental health?
The foundations to my mental health are: meditation, being present in the moment with my family, leaving room for play, working out and being in nature, and getting quality sleep. Part of showing up for my clients 100% is making sure I am taking care of myself so that I can!
How can people contact you to learn more about your services in Washington?
I can be reached at: brooke@ebbandflowseattle.com or directly at (206) 852-3581
What is your website address or online directory link?
What are 1-3 resources or coping skills that you like to recommend for mental health?
Stop, breathe be. It takes 2 seconds and can be done wherever you are. It's the fastest mindful exercise you can do and you can do it dozens of time each day. Try it and see how this changes your day! Stop. Take a deep breath. Notice your existence for one second.
Brooke Brandeberry received her dual masters degrees from Bastyr University in Nutrition and Clinical Health Psychology. Since graduating, Brooke has spent 10 years in mental and nutrition health and has fine tuned her focus so that she can provide the best care to her clients. Brooke loves to work with people who feel like they just never could quite fit in easily, and with trying to, ended up developing coping mechanisms to help them get by (such as eating disorders, addictive behaviors, toxic relationships, working too much, etc.) Brooke's passion is helping her clients not only find their true selves, but learning how to live in alignment with themselves and celebrating that! Hooray for being YOU! How beautiful.
