Dr. Aubriana Teeley is a licensed psychologist in Seattle, WA

Meet Dr. Aubriana Teeley, PsyD, a psychologist for kids, teens, parenting, and families in Seattle, WA

What is your current role as a mental health professional in Washington?

I am a licensed psychologist in private practice at AMT Psychology.

Where do you provide services?

I am available to provide services in person to clients in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle, WA. I am licensed to provide telehealth services to clients anywhere in Washington as well as to clients located in participating states through the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PsyPact). Here is a list of current PsyPact states.

What kind of services do you provide? Any special populations or certifications?

I provide individual therapy to older children (10+), adolescents, and adults. I also offer parent training and family therapy for families who have children who have behavioral issues. My clients are often struggling with executive functioning, anxiety, behavioral challenges, family communication, coping skills, and life transitions. Many of my clients identify as neurodivergent and/or LGBTQ+.

How does your service help people live mentally healthy lives?

I believe that children (and adults!) do well if they can, but sometimes the demands of the environment exceed their ability to cope. Children don’t want to be getting in trouble constantly and feeling like they are always disappointing their caregivers. Through empathy, understanding, and building skills, I help parents and children communicate more effectively and feel connected to each other again.

What kind of people do you love working with?

I love working with clients who are ready for a change and are committed to doing the work to improve their relationships. I enjoy working with people who are enthusiastic, engaged in sessions, and open to learning more about themselves and how they interact with others around them.

Why did you decide to become a mental health professional?

When I was an adolescent, I didn’t get the support I needed. I want to be there for kids and teens as a safe place to share big emotions and teach them how to handle problems in effective ways, so they don’t suffer like I did.

What do you wish people knew about services with you?

I view therapy as a collaborative process. I might make suggestions that work well long term. I also might make suggestions that work for a while and then stop working, or I might suggest things that are not going to work for you at all! I love to hear feedback on how I’m doing. If you need something different than what I offer, I will adjust where I can, or help you find someone who does meet your needs. I really appreciate clients who are ready to show up and do the hard work to improve how they feel about themselves, their relationships, and life in general!

What is your favorite way to take care of your mental health?

Knitting, either while watching a good TV show, or with my weekly knitting group. I also go on hikes and walks outside, spend time with friends and family, and attend my own weekly therapy appointments.
